Feeling Grinchy?
Snap Out Of It With Wine, Apple Cider, Cookies, And Books!
Yes, this time of year can be a lot. The shopping. The spending. The traveling. Too much to do and not enough time to do it in. And the noise, noise, noise, noise!
Why do we try to cram in all this family time over two holidays when we have all year to see each other?!?! And, yet, that’s what we do.
If you need to take some time to feel Grinchy, you just go ahead and do that.
And, when you’re ready to snap out of it, here’s an idea. Go visit R.J. Julia Booksellers, 768 Boston Post Road, Madison, CT, where I work part time as an event host (that’s me and old Grinchy up top, following a recent Grinch Story Time at the store). Roxanne, the owner, and the other folks there have come up with a great way to make life even sweeter for their book-loving community.
Here’s what Roxanne said in her latest email newsletter: “Beginning tomorrow, Monday, December 9, we will be serving wine, apple cider, and cookies each evening, 5pm until closing (8pm during the week and 6pm on Sundays) … When you're ready to relax, or if you're looking for a little kindness, please join us any day between 5pm and 8pm — the hot cider is ready for you!”
Love that and hope to see you there! You’ll be surrounded by other book lovers and the wonderful book sellers who work hard to make sure you will be able to find what you’re looking for.
